Players Must Tread Carefully

The FA amnesty kicks in today. So Phil Neville and Joleon Lescott (both on 4 bookings) have their slate wiped clean.

Tim Cahill, Steven Pienaar and Tony Hibbert having already picked up 5 bookings must be careful for the rest of the season, as if a player accumulates ten cautions between the opening day of the season and the second Sunday of April (Sunday 12th April) in the same season they will be automatically suspended for two matches.

Marouane Fellaini has already picked up 12 bookings this season so he could miss a total of three matches if he gets 15 cautions between the opening day of the season and the last day of the season. The way he is going that's a nap. (01/03/09)
