Everton Purple Shirt Launch

Phil Jagielka, Melanie & Stephen Jones, Phil Neville

Everton officially launched its Charity of the Season last night at Club Everton in Goodison Park.

Over 200 guests including present and past players attended a black tie dinner to celebrate the introduction of the club's limited edition purple shirt, which was worn for the one and only time by the team at White Hart Lane on Tuesday evening in the Carling Cup game against Spurs.

The Shirt is just one initiative to help raise funds for the chosen charity, Liverpool Unites which campaigns to improve the lives of young people on Merseyside by inspiring them to break the cycle of crime and poverty. Other initiatives are to be introduced during the season as Everton, supported by retail partner Kitbag Ltd, raise over £100,000 for their chosen charity. (30/10/09)

EVERTON RELEASES FIRST OFFICIAL IMAGE OF NEW LIMITED EDITION SHIRT

LIMITED EDITION SHIRT BREAKS ALL RECORDS

The International break last weekend has put Evertonians into a purple haze following the announcement that the club is to introduce a new, limited edition purple shirt.

The shirt has been introduced by Everton and retail partner Kitbag Limited to help raise over £100,000 for the Club's charitable partner for the 2009/10 season, Liverpool Unites.

Since the announcement last week evertondirect.com has been inundated with pre order requests for the limited edition shirt. Ray Evans, Managing Director of Everton’s retail partner Kitbag said: "When we launched the new Everton Le Coq Sportif home kit in June this year we were delighted to break the Club record for the best selling shirt launch. However, we have been astounded by the response we have had from Evertonians since news of the shirt we have produced for the Club's charity of the season was released. Pre orders are presently running at three times the level of that of the new home strip. This is fantastic news for Everton and its chosen charity.”

The new shirt will be seen for the first time in public at a special charity dinner to be held at Club Everton, Goodison Park on Thursday 29 October 2009 from 7.30pm. The shirt will be available the following day, 30 October from Everton One, Everton Two and evertondirect.com. The last remaining tickets for the exclusive dinner are available from Tom Woolley from Liverpool Unites on 0151285 8400 or tom.woolley@liverpool.com priced at £100 per person or £950 for a table of ten, which includes a three course dinner and complimentary fine wines. Everton has unveiled the very first images of their new limited edition shirt, being launched as part of the Club’s recently announced partnership with ‘charity of the season’ Liverpool Unites.

The Club and Kitbag Limited, Everton’s official retail partner, hope to raise in excess of £100,000 before the end of the current season for their chosen charity which campaigns to improve the lives of young people on Merseyside by inspiring them to break the cycle of crime and poverty.

The new limited edition shirt sees an Everton crest on a purple shirt for the very first time in the club's 131 year history and represents the adopted colour of the unique charity, Liverpool Unites. Each shirt will be individually boxed, numbered and presented with a certificate of authenticity. The first release of this limited edition shirt will be on Friday 30 October. The shirt is available on pre-order from evertondirect.com today (Friday 9 October) for delivery on the 30 October.

On hand to launch the new limited edition shirt were Melanie and Stephen Jones, parents of eleven year old Evertonian Rhys Jones, and Everton Manager David Moyes together with Russian midfielder Diniyar Bilyaletdinov who donned the new shirt at Finch Farm.

The shirt will be officially launched at a special black tie dinner to be held at Club Everton at Goodison Park on Thursday 29 October 2009. Members of the Everton first team squad and former players will join over 200 special guests to celebrate the event and there will be plenty of surprises for those lucky enough to attend. Tickets are now on sale and are priced at £100 per person or £950 for a table of ten, which includes a three course dinner and complimentary fine wine. To book please contact Tom Woolley at Liverpool Unites on 0151 285 8400 or tom.woolley@liverpool.com.
