30.Jason Koumas Everton
have tried to land Jason just before the deadline on a loan deal, but
have been knocked back by Tranmere. They will only allow him to leave
on a permanent deal.(27/03/02) David Moyes' gamble to not sign Jason before the transfer Deadline (28/03/02) seems to have paid off, as the Tranmere midfield star has told West Brom to shove it. A Tranmere spokesman says: "He spent Monday afternoon at The Hawthorns meeting with officials and having a look around, but he has contacted the Rovers chairman and manager to let them know he did not feel the move was right for him." He has close ties on Merseyside with his big family, which will get bigger soon, when his girlfriend has his baby in the next few months. So it could be a close season signing. (27/03/02) The word on the street is that Koumas could be the first of David Moyes signings. He was ready to sign for W.B.A. last week, but has put that on hold in light of the happenings at Goodison. We expect this deal to be sorted early next week.(17/03/02) |
| Big Jason is out for the rest of the season. He has broken his foot for the 3rd time. So the big move is off. Maybe never. (28/02/02) Rumour
has it that the 6 foot West Brom striker Jason Roberts is a target for
Everton. Jason is the nephew of Baggies hero Cyrille Regis. He plays
like him as well. Strong, fast, & an eye for a goal. He has scored
7 for West Brom this season, & he has just scored another two today.
One of our scouts (the sower), has said he rates him highly, & that
is good enough for us. |

Lee Carsley finally put pen to paper this morning and signed for the Toffeemen in a £1.9M deal. He will go straight into Sundays squad against the Arse. Lee
had this to say:"I am just glad it's all over. It has taken a week
to come round but it has happened at last. The Panto season is still alive & kicking, when 2 desperate clubs, try to get the most from a deal. At last they have agreed a fee. What that fee is nobody is saying, but again grown up men are arguing about a couple of hundred thousand. Times are hard. Meanwhile, Carsley needs to sign by high noon Friday, or Gary Cooper will shoot him, & he won't play against the arse. The medical staff have been told to get to bed early, so the crypton factor can start at first light. (07/02/02) Coventry are saying the deal is off, because we haven't offered enough Cadburys. It seems we have offered £1.7m and they want £2m.
Michael Dunford said “We have made our final offer and are currently
awaiting contact from Coventry City.” Coventrys Chief Executive Graham Hover "That's the end of the matter. We are not accepting the figure they have offered. We are not in the business of letting our players go cheaply. "We have a responsibilty to our supporters to try and get promotion and that means will not let players go for anything other than what we believe is our true valuation." What a palava!! (07/02/02) Carsley will sign for us Tommorrow. We will pay £1.7m. What a state of affairs. We have been arguing the toss over £100,000 for 2 days. Not so long back, we were known as the millionaire club. How times have changed. (06/02/02) We now look certain to sign Mad Dog lookalike Lee Carsley next week. Walter , the cunning old fox, has found out there is a buy-out clause in his contract. The clause allows Carsley to leave for £1.5M.(02/02/02) The press has spilled the beans on the secret negotiations between Everton & Coventry. Earlier in the week, Everton made a bid of £2m for the 27 year old Irish International, but the new board at Coventry want to take stock of the situation, before they let their best players go. The sky Blues are in a worst financial situation than us. So early next week we may have another International playing for us. (01/02/02) Blue

Everton have been linked with Croatian international striker Davor Vugrinec of Italian Serie A club Lecce. Vugrinec, who is 26, scored 11 times last season.Lecce's sporting director Pantaleo Corvino claims Everton have already tabled a bid for Vugrinec. He is young, fit, scores goals, surely he can't play for us. Wait a minute, he's got a back injury. That's OK then. Corvino said: "We hope to sell him to an Italian club, not abroad like Everton, because that is what he wants. At the moment he will stay at Lecce and hopefully he can repeat the same wonderful season he had last year." Vugrinec moved to Italy from Trabzonspor in Turkey. He has played in 13 games this season for Lecce and scored 3 goals. Blue Kipper says: |

Bobby scored a hat-trick today, in 4-3 win. Maybe Walter caught him on an off day, when he saw him miss a penalty in midweek. Maybe he should take another look at him. (19/01/02) Everton could miss out on Zamora, who is 21 tomorrow. As the cash is not in position for Walter to go on his spending spree. The cash will not be available for another couple of weeks. We still have to melt down all the old trophies. In the meantime a couple of Premiership clubs could jump in & sign Bobby, who has has scored 49 goals in 72 league games. Brighton Chief Executive Martin Perry said: “We haven’t had a bid but there has been contact Chairman to Chairman. It was a Premiership club.” Apparently not Everton. (15/01/02) Everton are still finding it hard to bring a player to Goodison, because of our financial problems. Walter said: “It’s been a very awkward situation as you can imagine. There are not many teams either in England or abroad who are willing to give up any players at a very important stage of the season.” (14/12/01) With the worry of Super Kev and Big Duncs injuries we believe Everton could plunge into the market for another striker very soon. Walter watched Zamora score his 14th goal of the season on Saturday - his eighth in successive matches. We think this is going to happen. (05/12/01)

| Walter went back to his old club Rangers today to try & get striker Michael Mols on loan until the end of the season. Everton agreed to pay his £20,000 a week wages, but Rangers wanted a loan fee, believed to be £100,000 for the rest of the season, which would be knocked off the asking price if he was to become an Everton player. | Magnus Hedman has now confirmed he is staying at Coventry. He
said: "I want to stop all the speculation once and for all and
I have told the people who are working for me to stay out of my sight
because I want to do everything I can to get Coventry back up. The chances off Magnus Hedman becoming a Toffeeman looks to be dead and buried. Everton can't agree a fee with Coventry City. It now looks that Hedman could be going to Portugal with Sporting Lisbon. Hedman had this to say: "I have heard that Sporting Lisbon are definitely interested in buying me. It is good to hear about their interest." It
seems certain now that Everton will keep faith in Gerrard, Simonsen
and Myhre. God help us ! (31/08/01) Everton are now in a position to make a positive move for Magnus Hedman now that the Ball deal has been completed. Magnus
had this to say on the matter: "It
is good news to hear that Ball’s transfer has happened. Now everything
depends on Coventry’s price tag. The only thing that could stop a transfer
is if they ask for too high a price." Come on Everton. Get the business done.(19/08/01) Everton
it has been rumoured have offered Coventry £1million up front,
with £50,000 per appearance, made up to a maximum of 50. That
would eventually give Coventry £3.5million,but they would have
to wait at least a year to see all the money come through. What a palaver.
(14/08/01) Hedman
has seen his arse over this joke of a situation. Bill it is time you
got your hands in your pocket & buy him yourself. It is no good
waiting for 10 days or more. We have 3 games in that time, & even
if we put all 3 goalies in, we still could be bottom of the league by
then. Magnus
(what a name) has moved a step closer to signing after Andy Goram signed
for Coventry on a free transfer as cover for Chris Kirkland, & Michael
(I love Everton) Ball finally moved to Rangers. The only problem is
Everton want to pay £2.5m & the sky blues want £4m.
Will there every be a straight forward transfer, where Everton are concerned?
(07/08/01) With
the Ball deal very close and with Thomas Myhre on his way it seems certain
that Hedman could be an Everton player next week.(03/08/01) Magnus Hedman has pleaded with Coventry to push along his proposed move to Everton. Hedman, who is valued at around £3.5m, said: "I would like something to be sorted out before the season starts." (31/07/01) With Roy Carroll signing for the Mancs it is now possible that manager Walter may now be targeting the 28-year-old Swedish international.Hedman has fuelled recent speculation over his future by claiming he is close to signing for a new club. He said: "It will be a good solution and it concerns a big club in the Premier League, who have been in contact with Coventry for a week. They want to keep the deal secret for some days still. I have to respect this, of course." If Hedman does sign it would mean the departure of Steve Simonsen and Thomas Myhre. Tommy has been interesting FC Copenhagen and Bolton, whilst Simmo was reported to be high on the wanted list of Wigan boss Paul Jewell. (24/07/01) Blue

If the Tomasz Radzinski deal falls through tomorrow it is rumoured that Walter will turn his attenttions to Geogi Ivanov, the Levski Sofia striker - he may send Get Carter & Dumbford on the mission. Let's hope not because on the face of it this boy can play a bit. He's 25 and scored 24 goals in 28 games last season including 6 pens ( Joe-Max says he's not worried at all), only downer is 28 games as he spent some time on the treatment table. I expect everything to be finalised when United return from the Far East. (24/07/01)
Everton want goalkeeping re-inforcements because Thomas Myhre is transfer-listed and attracting attention from Bolton Wanderers. Gerrard hasn't lived up to the bill, & is a little better than shite. Simonsen must be shite, as Walter has never played him. Everton's will offer former England under-21 keeper Steve Simonsen plus around £1m in cash for the talented 23-year-old. Wigan boss, Jewell has revealed that Everton manager Walter Smith has telephoned him to make an inquiry about Carroll. Carroll has built a big reputation since a £375,000 move from Hull City four years age, & is now a Northern Ireland international . The Wigan player is also the fans choice, as he currently tops the Blue Kipper Poll with 38% of the vote. (10/07/01) Carroll has signed for Man Utd. Blue

On transfer speculation linking him with Everton Gavin said "It's flattering to be linked with Premiership clubs but it's been going on for a while - Colin Cameron has been linked with moves for a few years and nothing's happened to him so you can't get very excited about it." Scotland

Danny boy has slagged off Walter & the club for not signing him. He said"I was stupid because I trusted them," he fumed. "I neglected interest from other clubs because they seemed so sure." Prodan felt he had done enough after coming through a gruelling week unscathed, so was amazed when Smith demanded a clause in his contract allowing Everton to release him if he suffered a recurrence of his old knee injury. The centre-back turned down the offer after discussions with his agent, then blasted: "The problem is that they are foolish. They added that clause because they have too many defenders at the club and they changed their mind about signing me."(09/08/01) Everton have binned any chances to try and bring Daniel Prodan to Goodison Park. Walter
had this to say on the matter:"They are not financial reasons but
one or two clauses that were placed in the contract to cover us in a
medical sense weren't acceptable to the other parties. Therefore we
found it was better to just give up on that signing." (07/08/01) Problems,
more problems. The transfer is now in doubt, due to unknown difficulties.
We think besides his dodgy knee, he may have a dodgy passport. Walter
says: "We are in discussions with his representatives at the present
moment," manager Walter Smith said. "A few problems came up
in those negotiations and we currently await the outcome. But things
have been rather slow developing there." (06/08/01) Prodan
is having a medical on his dodgy knee before we think about signing
him. Walter says : "We've had a good look at Daniel this week and are impressed. We will talk to him and his representatives over the weekend" Daniel said "My injury is now OK .I feel very good.I am confident in my ability and confident in my chances of signing for Everton" (21/07/01) Walter has invited defender Daniel Prodan to train with the Everton first team squad during their week long stay at the Il Ciocco training camp in Italy with a view to signing him on a free transfer. (12/07/01) Everton
have confirmed an interest in Stubbs and Prodan. Walter must be thinking
of a back six.Prodan failed to kick a ball for Rangers following a £2.5m
move from Atletico Madridthree years ago because of chronic knee problems
and at one stage it looked as though he would never play again. He
is now available on a free and is keen on returning to British football

(see below) Stubbsey is rumoured to have been offered around £20,000
a week over three years to stay at Celtic, whereas his wages at Goodison
will be nearer £15,000 a week. Great to see Alan Stubbs has settled in to life at Everton very quickly - at the Sefton Arms in West Derby - Bladdered !!! Lets see , who did we sign last season on a free that might be seen out a lot pissed - Any guesses - maybe someone in the US at the moment ?!! (26/06/01) Everton

| We've got him. Everton have confirmed that they have finally agreed a £4.5 million transfer fee with Anderlecht. Now he has only got to pass a medical on Monday & then fly out to Italy on Tuesday. Walter says: "They have been fairly lengthy negotiations and I am delighted that part of the transfer has been agreed. He will arrive on Sunday, have the medical on Monday and if everything goes O.K there he will join us at our training camp in Italy on Tuesday, which should get him involved with the players straight away. There were a couple of occasions when the indication was that it wasn't going to happen. When you are negotiating the length of time that we have been doing you always start to get elements of doubt creeping in. But I'm delighted that all those doubts have been put in the background and we can now look forward to seeing Tomasz play in an Everton jersey. You always hope in the close season that you can get a signing that can do well for the team and I am sure that Tomasz will do that." (13/07/01) Ian Ross says: "The two clubs held more talks today and hopefully we are very close to agreement on a fee. If an agreement can be reached then Tomasz Radzinski will fly to L*******l as soon as possible to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical examination." If Tomasz does sign then he will fly out to Italy early next week to meet up with his new team-mates at the Il Ciocco training camp. (12/07/01) Sir Philip Carter, (yes he's still here) & Michael Dunford took a trip to Brussels yesterday, to try & finish off the deal that could see Rad here in time to make the training camp in Italy. So far no word from Ian Ross, Alan Myers , or the spokesman. But Walter says: "Negotiations have been drawn out a little. We should hear today the final outcome of those negotiations and hopefully those will be positive, but we will have to wait and see." (11/07/01) Everton have thrown down the gauntlet to Anderlecht today. They have told them to get the deal done or Everton will look elsewhere. A spokesman for Everton said: "We remain hopeful of concluding a deal, but negotiations cannot continue forever. I think we will have a decision one way or the other within the next 72 hours." (05/07/01) Tomasz told Anderlecht today he wants to go to Everton. So hopefully he will be an Everton player when the team comes back to pre season training. He said "Our meeting yesterday was a very positive one. We understand each other's positions. Verschueren understands I have my heart set on Everton, and I obviously understand Anderlecht want a price which will enable them to find a suitable replacement for me. But I refuse to accept a solution will not be found. I expect both clubs to reach an agreement over the next few days. I am not contemplating a scenario which does not involve a transfer. I don't want any problems with Anderlecht though, and if a deal has not been reached by Monday, I will be present in training. It's important for me to keep fit. But I'd love to sign for Everton. They are offering me a wonderful four-year deal, I could earn three times as much as I do now at Anderlecht. I have had a telephone conversation with Walter Smith, and he says he believes in me. I know Everton are not a top club, they don't play in Europe. But to me, playing in the Premier League is just as thrilling as playing in the Champions League or the UEFA Cup. The Premier League games are shown live on Canadian TV, so my mum could see me play every week. It's time for me to go. Anderlecht are a top club, but I want to play in a greater football league." (30/06/01) Everton are now clear favourites to sign Rad. We have increased our bid to £4m, & hope to sign him when Walter is back from the States. (26/06/01) Everton Club spokesman Ian Ross said: "I can now confirm that we have lodged a formal bid for Tomasz Radzinski. We are now waiting to hear from the player's club Anderlecht." (20/06/01) An unusual thing happened today, Bill Kenwright said that Radzinski is an Everton target. The problem being how much Anderlecht want for him. Reports say between £2.5m - £8m, depending which paper you read. The other problem is will he fancy coming to fight a relegation battle, rather than play in Europe with Leeds. Blue Bill said "Walter Smith knows what money is available and Radzinski is one of the players he is interested in." (17/06/01) The Belgian press reckon Tomasz Radzinski, the £3m rated Anderlecht goal machine is on the Walter Smith wanted list. The Polish born striker, who plays National football for Canada, scored a few goal in last season's Champions League. The 28 year old striker has scored 14 in 26 games in 99/00. He is more famous for scoring the 2 goals that gave Anderlecht their historic triumph over Manchester United. If he comes to us, then who needs Tommy Mooney. (12/06/01) Blue

| The Wimbledon midfielder is available on a Bosman so naturally we are interested, he scored five goals last season so he would be an improvement on any of our current midfield if he could turn it on in the Premiership, at 28 he probably sees it as the Last Chance Saloon so this could be a goer. He is also unlikely to be checked into a rehab clinic or threaten to quit football if criticised, he also has a good disciplinary record and is relatively injury free, so it would be most surprising if he signs up (particularly if he seeks opinion from that other Goodison cockney Stephen Hughes).
