So Proud Firstly
I have to say that what Belfast Blue has
said in his comment is nothing more than the truth. 100% agree, well said
lad. Burst I have just heard on Radio Merseyside that the River Alt has burst its banks in Valley Road Kirkby. In addition, the area is suffering from a sewage overflow due to heavy rains. This forsaken location is where Billy No Dough wants to relocate to before selling up. If, and I hope we never do, we move there and the sewer overflows again will this be a case of the shit hitting the fans? COYB Jim Parry, Crosby Blue.(04/11/09) Tinker,
Firstly. Now I probably could not play three games in six days, but then
again I am not a fuckin athlete in superb physical condition with the
worlds best trainers monitoring my fitness levels 24 hours a day and being
paid handsomely for the pleasure of playing football, after all they are
only playing football.
Moving swiftly on to our massive injury crisis, I'll give you Arteta,
Pienaar and Jags, but you'll have to jog my memory as the the other quality
players we are waiting on? Victor?? Vaughn?? These are nothing more than
second rate squad players, besides it is the Managers fault if he does
not have a squad big enough to compete in all these competitions. after
all he has been here long enough to assemble a decent squad! But no! as
he buys so much shite we are constantly rotating our squad. Matt (LONG SUFFERING season ticket holder, lower gwladys)(04/11/09) I agree with Tinker I would like to leave us supporters with a thought and for those who are fortunate to live close enough to go and see the blues play on good and bad days, need to read carefully what this says. Goethe said, 'Treat a man as he appears to be, and you make him worse. But treat a man as if he already were what he potentially could be, and you make him what he should be.' One day a principal called in three teachers and said, 'You three are the finest in the system, so we're giving you ninety high-IQ students to see what you can do with them.' Those students achieved thirty percent more than the other students in the school. At the end of the year the principal called the three teachers in and said, 'I've a confession to make. You didn't have ninety of the most promising students; they were run-of-the-mill. We picked them at random and gave them to you.' The teachers naturally concluded that their exceptional teaching skills must have been responsible for the students' great progress. 'I've another confession,' said the principal. 'You're not the brightest teachers; your names were the first three drawn out of the hat.' So, why did those students and teachers perform at such a level? Because they were encouraged to believe they could! Baseball star Reggie Jackson said, 'I'll tell you what makes a great manager; a great manager has a knack for making ball-players think they are better than they are. He forces you to have a good opinion of yourself. He lets you know he believes in you. He makes you get more out of yourself. And once you learn how good you really are, you'll never settle for playing anything less than your very best.' Today, go out and encourage somebody! Ann (04/11/09) Absolute Class Matt (season ticket holder lower gwladys) - response Mate,
I understand your frustration at the moment, in fact I guess most of us
do. But I have to tell you to grow up! Have you totally forgotten the
nightmare of "Walter Smith"? Do you remember being so close
to relegation year after year? Really? Have you forgotten? Genius What the fuck has David Moyes got to do? 1st, we are not a top 4 side, nowhere near it. But HE has led us to a 4th place, 6th place & two 5th place finishes, all on a shoestring compared to the teams that have finished above & around us. The Sky league consists of 3 outstanding teams, 5 good ones & the rest. Moyes' plan would seem to be to finish as high as possible so that the club continues to improve, we cant throw money around because we dont have it. In spite of this we continue to improve, we're a top six side, and whilst that isn't good enough for some fans its as good as we can hope for in the current financial situation that we're in. The mans a genius, you only have to look at some of the teams that have thrown wads of cash around trying to get into a position like ours to realise the amount of savvy this mans got. Moyes wants us in the Champions League, winning trophies, but the reality is your looking at being very lucky ( Portsmouth winning the FA Cup when all the better teams knocked each other out or just couldn't be arsed), or gradually building. That's not going to happen all of a sudden, by that i mean 4 or 5 seasons. We need cash, lots of it, a better stadium, sorry, i've got some great memories of Goodison but we need a better, modern stadium, its becoming embarrassing. He's got control of this club & i'm glad he has too, only 3 teams have a manager running things from top to bottom, Man U, Arsenal & Everton. If we lost Moyes we'd be in serious trouble, by the way, all you critics of Moyes, you NEVER come up with the name of another manager you'd like in his place. Every season now you get teams coming up and playing every home game like a cup tie, sitting back away trying to catch you on a rare attack & filling their sides with giants to get a goal through set pieces, but cream always rises to the top. We have got the foundations in place, that's vital, but without investment we're going to have to rely on this managers skill in getting the best out of his players. The fact is that we're not ready for the Champions League yet, but David Moyes is the best hope we've got to, hopefully, get there. Kev Clarke (04/11/09) Pinupforheroes Hi, My Evertonian daughter Helen Tosney is the "pin-up" for August in the new Pin-Up for Heroes calander which is available to order now with all proceeds going to Help for Heroes - a charity that supports our wounded servicemen & women. I won't keep you in suspenders, sorry I mean suspense about the calendar theme so log on and dig deep for a very worthy cause. http://www.pinupforheroes.co.uk/ best regards, Eddy Tosney (02/11/09) Dear Bluekipper, Diouf It appears to have gone very quiet regarding the 'they threw bananas at me' incident, not to mention the abuse of the young Everton ball boy. Not wanting to sound too cynical, but should the banana throwing allegation have been proved correct, especially in these days of trial by television and CCTV, we wouldn't have heard the last of it from the media. This is the media, that loves a good story to sell papers and subscriptions and allows itself to be pulled from left to right, depending on the owner's political persuasion. They would have had a field day denouncing Everton Football Club. So, if the race card is to be played and the usual uproar that follows, let's hear it from the media demanding why nothing has yet materialised from the police, the Premiership the FA and of course his dog. Allegations have been made by the self proclaimed 'superstar' Diouf. Where are the pictures, or indeed the video evidence that so profusely dominates today's game. Allegations have been made, they should have been substantiated by now. I'm not going to assasinate this player's character as he's already done that without anyone else's help. Have the Club taken legal advice and if so, is this being pursued? The Premiership have been quite good at sweeping things under the carpet (according to Lescott after the Emre/Yobo abuse incident). Is this going to be a case of deja vu?Just wondering, although I can't hold my breath forever. Eddieparkend COYB (31/10/09) I
know its difficult at the moment with so many injuries, so it is hard
to critiscise. However, you would think that those who are playing would
wear the shirt with pride and play in the position asked of them no matter
what the circumstances. David Moyes is complaining at playing 3 games in 6 days? forgive me if I'm being stupid but doesnt success bring more games? If your playing all these games it means you are in cup competitions? isnt that what we want? shouldnt he be bolstering our squad to be able to compete in all these competitions? and signing players in time to play in these competitions? We are out of the carling cup and on the brink of a relegation fight! If his hands are tied by the board he should come out and say so, rather than put us through the agony of being forever also rans. In my opinion he has taken us as far as he can now! no one can argue with the shite football that has been on display at goodison over the last few years and this season has been awful to watch. At Spurs last night we looked like Wimbledon!! Stop sulkin about being successful you ginger twat and concentrate on keeping the ball for more than 3 passes. One final point if Jo must be the worst player ever to come out of Brazil! Matt (season ticket holder lower gwladys) (31/10/09) What Do You Think? Have your say! e-mail mailbag@bluekipper.com Today's
